National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP)

About NVLAP

The National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) is administered by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and provides third-party accreditation to testing and calibration laboratories. NVLAP accreditation is based on ISO/IEC 17025 and demonstrates that a laboratory is technically competent to perform specific tests within a defined scope.

Why NVLAP Matters

NVLAP accreditation is recognized by regulatory agencies including the FCC and ISED as evidence of laboratory competence. Test reports from NVLAP-accredited laboratories carry additional weight in the certification process. Many product certification schemes — particularly under the FCC SDoC framework — require testing to be performed by an accredited laboratory.

ISO 17025

ISO/IEC 17025 is the international standard for testing and calibration laboratories. It specifies general requirements for competence, impartiality, and consistent operation. Accreditation under ISO 17025 through NVLAP requires regular assessments by NIST and demonstration of ongoing technical competence.

CTS Accreditation History
Previously Accredited

Compliance Test Services was previously accredited under the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program at NVLAP Lab Code 600293-0. That accreditation lapsed during an operator transition; CTS does not currently hold an active NVLAP accreditation. Reinstatement is in progress. See the accreditation page for current status and timeline.
